Vancouver Real Estate Updates

It's been quiet in the MACBULK universe at the moment as I'm not receiving anything new from the mailings. Is it because the market is picking up and discounted new homes have been snapped up already? The past few months has been good for Vancouver real estate as more first-time buyers jump into the market and bought their first home. I just spoke lately with a realtor friend and they've been having a lot of business since May. It seems the historically low interest rate is one big factor for the increase. In my view, the coming imposition of the HST is affecting buyers to rush their home purchase as well.

Is it becoming a sellers market again? I don't think so. I think we're not gonna see the deep discount as in the previous months. The market it seems is becoming more even. It's not really a sellers market but is not a buyers either.

UPDATE: Below is a new email from Key Marketing (CondoMob): Looks like there is only one remaining available unit in this property.

The CondoMob Sales Team is conducting an Open House this weekend at the Amadeo at 306 6th Street in New Westminster. The project is currently in receivership. Condo Sale in Vancouver – Are you in the market for a new home?

I got another email last week from Anky Kan regarding the four properties they are selling at MACBulk, namely: The Legacy at Burnaby, Cora at Coquitlam, Edgebrook at Abbotsford and The Morgan in South Surrey.

In the first three weeks, 50% of the homes were sold on the first two properties, The Legacy and Cora. Do you think that’s impressive or not? I actually went to the Legacy to see some of the units myself but the price was still above my budget. Also, Burnaby isn’t really my first choice as far as the location of my future home is concerned. I just checked it out because the location is so convenient as it is just walking distance to the Holdom skytrain station.

Last Saturday, they’ve started on selling Amacon properties, the Edgebrook and Morgan. I’m not really contemplating on buying a home in Abbotsford and South Surrey so I passed up the chance and didn’t visit the places. It’s a Great Time to buy

We were just driving around in Fleetwood and chanced upon an open house being held on a nice three bedroom townhouse. We spoke quite a bit with the realtor and yeah, he said that it’s a great time to buy now because of the very low interest rates and many choices available. What do you expect? :) He also said to take your time but not too much as the market may change depending on the economy. You always never know. But bottomline is, If you have some savings and a steady job then now is the great time to get into the market.
